Courts Fashionista Competition held Friday 26th August, 2016

    August 30th, 2016 -- The Courts Fashionista Competition was held on Friday 26th August, 2016. The competition is a significant part of the very popular ‘Fashionable Furniture Promotion’ which is dedicated to showcasing the latest styles and trends of the world’s best brands in Furniture. Fashionista does not only connect Fashion and Furniture but it certainly gives local aspiring and professional designers the opportunity to showcase their talent. 

     

    Prior to the event persons were asked to sign-up in store, choose a piece of furniture and present a sketch of their design. Their sketch must have depicted the piece of furniture in which they selected. A stipend of $200 was also given to each participant to assist with execution of their designs. Selected participants then rallied on the day for the following prizes;

    Winner - $2500; 
    1st Runner Up - $1000; 
    2nd Runner Up - $500; 
    All other participants were awarded a participation trophy; and 
    All participants were awarded certificates of participation.

    According to Courts Commercial Officer – Miss. Shanola Murrey, “It was evident that the participants placed great efforts into their pieces, as all crafted were very unique and beautifully designed”, she also stated that it was a splendid show and she could see that spectators were ‘wowed’ by the designs and the entertainment.

    On behalf of Court/Unicomer St. Kitts & Nevis Ltd, Miss. Murrey further expressed her deepest appreciation to the management and staff for their dedication to the event being a success. Special thanks to her Commercial Assistants, Heidi Williams and Trevlyn Stapleton for their creativity, strength and perseverance throughout the planning and executing of Fashionista. 

    To DJ – Maurice (EK) Flanders who always brings the hype to Courts’ events and to Freedom FM for airing live on radio. To Diamond Security, Photographer - Maurice Pemberton, Videographer - Almon Dasent, Stage Coordinators - Vere Mc Clean and team, MC - Judy (Purple) Dupont, Caribelle Batik and Vaunghn Anslyn for showcasing their designs, Turquoisa Henry – rendering the National Anthem and Infamous – local entertainer, we say that many thanks as this show would not be magnificent without your contributions. 

    To all judges, Mrs. Pearl Williams (Head Judge) – acted as OECS Courts Credit Department Director and Accounting Manager; Ms. Lucinda Gumbs – Courts Credit Department Supervisor; Mr. Vaunghn Anslyn – Entrepreneur, Carpenter, Model and Actor, Personal trainer, Designer and Decorator (Nevis); Miss. Suelika N. Creque – Former News Reporter, employee of the Department of Youth Empowerment, local and international model; and Miss. Eusha Johnson – Entrepreneur, local and international model; we say a hearty thank you for your assistant through the process and unfolding of our Fashionista, without you this competition would not be a success. 

    Sincere thanks for competing and congratulations to our Fashionista’s: Winner – Chadene’ Conner ((Ruby 3peice Suite); 1st Place – Corrine Flanders (Ruby 3peice Suite); 2nd Place – Phynora Ible (City Scene Sectional); and all other participants, Latoya Clarke, Karen Edwards, Felicia Silcott, Xuxa Garraden, Melva Walters and Tamiqua Challenger.

    To Miss White Sand 2016 - Olivia Walters and all others models, we cannot say thank you enough for your spectacular performances and we wish you all the best in your development within the modelling and/or pageantry industries.
