COURTS Bedding Charitable Promotion targets Salvation Army

By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com

Customers could win mattress of cash

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – COURTS LIMITED kicked off its Bedding Charitable Promotion earlier today (Sept. 13), which will see the Salvation Army benefitting from some of the proceeds while a number of the business establishment’s customers will be winners of gifts and prizes.

A brief but meaningful ceremony was held this morning at its Bay Road, St. Kitts location where representatives of the company and a representative of the Salvation Army were on hand for the launch.

Sales Branch Manager David Jeetlall explained that the Bedding Charitable Promotion, which is held in September each year, has several components to it.

He said one is a guaranteed $3,000 cash which would be presented to the Salvation Army. Additionally, $20 would be donated to the charitable organisation on the sale of every bedding product.

The items in this category include mattresses, divans, pillows, bases and beds.

Jeetlall also said the promotion would benefit COURTS customers and a number of attractive prizes and deals are being offered during the promotion.

These offers include free gifts with the purchase of specific items, a “nothing down and nothing to pay for 90 days” on credit purchases of 24 months or more, and individuals who purchase a bedding product would be entered into a draw and given a chance to win a mattress full of cash.

One of the operators of the local Salvation Army, Major Marjorie Campbell, thanked COURTS Ltd. for choosing the entity – a religious and charitable organization - as the beneficiary of its 2016 Bedding Promotion.

She said the organization has been active within the Federation for the past 112 years and had created a number of programmes to assist both children and adults.

From training of women in sewing and cooking to visiting the elderly and shut-ins, from distribution of clothing to those in need to distribution of school supplies to children who are in need, and to mentoring juveniles, Major Campbell said the Salvation Army executes its responsibilities without care for age or gender.

Jeetlall said COURTS has always taken seriously its responsibility as a corporate citizen and encouraged its customers to shop at the company, thereby enabling them to win prizes while helping with a worthy cause.

“COURTS has always embraced its role as a corporate citizen and takes pride in giving back to the communities in which we operate. This is one of the things that - for me personally - is very satisfying to work with a company such as COURTS, and a lot of the team also feels this way. Whether it be assisting the Cardin Home with new washrooms, assisting a senior citizen with a makeover of their house, the Irishtown School Library, we tend to do projects in every community that we operate, and here in St. Kitts and Nevis it is no exception.

“I want to encourage everyone to shop at COURTS for all your bedding needs and get a chance to win a mattress full of cash while you donate to the Salvation Army.”

In delivering the vote of thanks, COURTS Ltd. Commercial Assistant Trevlyn Stapleton expressed the company’s hope that the Salvation Army “can put those funds received from our bedding sales to a favourable project. We wish that the Salvation Army certainly enjoys above and beyond the gifts of COURTS bringing value home”.

The Bedding Charitable Promotion ends on the last day of September, after which a draw will be done to find out which customer would walk away with a mattress filled with cash.
