Police Press Release 17-11-2016: Report of arrests, convictions and other activities

    Basseterre, St. Kitts, November, 17 2016, (RSCNPF):  Below is a report of Arrests, Convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period of 15 -16 November. 

     

    ARRESTED: 
    Arrested/Bailed: Jornal Rogers of Lime Kiln Basseterre was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Larceny committed on November 11, 2016  at Ocean's Edge, Frigate Bay. He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000.00 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday 5th December, 2016.
     
    Arrested/Bailed: Jermaine Wilkinson of Cotton Ground Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Possession of Cannabis on November 16.  He was granted bail  in the sum of $2500.00 for his appearance at the Charlestown Magistrate Court on the November 22, 2016

    OTHER ACTIVITY:
    House Breaking and Larceny: Police are investigating a report of House Breaking and Larceny which occurred on East Park Range. Inquires reveals that the V/C secured the premises at about 8.30am on November 15, upon return at about 12:50pm, discovered the house broken into and the following items stolen; one Black Sony Ps4 value $2000.00 ECC and two Digital Analog Controllers value $350.00 ECC each from a nightstand in the front room, one Black Sony Ps3 value $1800.00ECC, one Black Analog Controllers and one Camouflage Analog Controller from a nightstand in a western bedroom and one pair of gold earring with initial "D" from a Jewellery box. The scene was processed by the Crime Scene Unit. A search was made of the surrounding areas for the following items but nothing was found. Inquiries will continue.
     
    Search Warrants Executed: Police executed a number search warrants over the period of this report in search of illegal firearms, ammunition, illegal drugs, instruments that can be used in the commission of crime and under other suspicions. The searches were conducted in Godwin Ghaut and Sandy Point, St. Kitts  and Cotton Ground, Nevis.  
     
    Malicious Damage:- Police are investigating a report of Malicious Damage to the National Bank ATM situated at the Industrial Site, Frigate Bay Road. Investigations revealed that the damage was discovered when employees reported to load the cash into the ATM machine at on November 16.  Entry was not made.  The scene was processed by the Crime Scene Unit. 
     
    House Breaking and Larceny:- Police are investigating a report of House Breaking and Larceny in Cotton Ground Village. The incident occurred on November 15. The virtual complainant pointed out a bottom drawer where a jewelry box with jewelry and a bag containing $800.00 USC was kept, and which were stolen. The scene was processed by the crime scene unit, investigations into this matter are ongoing. 15/11/16. No.380 Sgt Caines was informed.
     
    Malicious Damage:- Police are investigating a report of Malicious Damage to the premises Kings Pavilion Chinese Super Market located on the Bay Road. The incident occurred  at about 4.00am on November 16. Investigations revealed that the offender or offenders used a hard instrument to first break the glass on the front door located in the south but did not gain entry. Upon further investigation it was noticed that a metal door on the western side of building was completely removed and thrown over a short wall next to the building but there was an inner door which prevented the offender(s) from gaining access into the building. Value of the damage is unknown at the moment. The scene was by the Crime Scene Unit. Investigation continues. 
     
    Larceny: Police are investigating a report of Larceny at the Vance Amory International Airport. Initial investigations revealed that the portable St Kitts-Nevis Anguilla, National Bank A.T.M stationed at the Vance Amory International Airport was stolen. The amount of money in the machine was not disclosed.. Inquiries are ongoing in this matter. 

    Traffic Accidents: There were three (03) traffic accidents on the federation’s roadways during the period of this report. 

    Citizen Safety: Police continue to conduct searches of abandoned properties and lots, stop and searches, vehicular check points, searches of ferry terminals and marinas and mobile patrols around the Federation. These are being done in efforts to remove illegal firearms, ammunition, illegal drugs and instruments that can be used to commit crimes from our communities.

    Citizen Engagement: Village patrols,  school visits, and engagements with local businesses continue by the Police in efforts to reduce the risk of citizens becoming victims of crimes.
