By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A Sandy Point resident - who was taking a walk in Old Road - had to be taken to the Joseph N. France General Hospital after being shot.

A police press release issued last evening (Nov. 20) explained that at about 6:50 p.m. on that day, Jermaine Browne, 30, “was shot by an unknown assailant while walking in the area of the Catholic Church”.

SKNVibes understands that Browne was taken to the hospital via an Emergency Medical Services vehicle where he received treatment.

Investigations into the incident are being made by members of Division ‘B’ of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, the Violent Crimes Unit and the Crime Scene Unit.

Meanwhile, investigations are also being made into a robbery that took place early Saturday morning (Nov. 19).

This publication understands that at about 7:50 a.m., an Island Bakery delivery bus was in the Lower Bourkes, Sandy Point area when the driver, Carlos Warner, was robbed.

At gunpoint, he was relieved of an undisclosed sum of money before the perpetrator(s) made good their escape.

Relative to both incidents, the public is asked to provide any assistance it could to support the police in their investigations.

“Police seek the assistance on any person who may have seen this incident. Anyone with information is asked to call any Police Station or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 (TIPS),” the release read.
