BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A native of the Dominican Republic who resides in Nevis is being treated at the Alexandra Hospital for injuries sustained after the vehicle he was driving reportedly went over a cliff.
Information reaching this publication indicates that the incident occurred at 7:00 a.m. on the Island Main Road in Nevis.
It is understood that Phillipe Frias, driver of a Nissan Pathfinder (PA3802), was travelling from Bath Village’s direction towards that of Craddock Road’s when he reportedly lost control and the vehicle went over a cliff on the sea side of the road and deposited close to the sea.
Emergency Medical Services staff as well as members of the Charlestown Unit of the St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services Department were dispatched to the scene.
This publication understands that a conscious Frias had to be extricated from the vehicle and placed on a stretcher before he was transported to the hospital for treatment.
SKNVibes is not certain about the extent of Frias’ injuries but investigations are being made.
Meanwhile, a two-vehicle accident which took place at the junction of Wilkin Street and Horsford’s Road in Basseterre is under investigation.
The incident occurred between P6743 and P4545.
