SKN Beach Volleyball team disappoint in Tobago

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - A beach volleyball team from St. Kitts and Nevis had a disappointing outing in Trinidad and Tobago over the weekend.

     

    Competing at the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tournament, Stedroy Collins and Rohan Jeffers finished in the 16th spot out of the 18 competing teams.

    According to information coming out of Tobago where the competition was played, the duo was drawn in Group D where they came up against the likes of Cuba A, Trinidad A and team Honduras.

    Playing on Friday, the Volleyballers lost their opening encounter to Cuba’s Nivaldo Diaz and Sergio Gonzalez  in straight sets  21-6 and 21-8. 

    In their second encounter, they showed improvements but still went under to the home pair of Daniel Williams and Marlon Phillip, 21-12, 21-11.

    Returning to the sand courts on the following day, team St. Kitts and Nevis lost in straight sets again in their final group match to Honduras, 21-12 and 21-19.

    Placed in the loser's Quarter Finals, the St. Kitts and Nevis duo received a ‘double bagel’ in their match when they lost 21-0, 21-0.

    The competition was won by Canadian pair, Sam Schachter and Sam Pedlow.
