BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE junior national football team that qualified for the Final round of the Under-20 World Cup Qualifiers or the CONCACAF leg, has received a tough draw.

The draw ceremony, which took place last evening (Nov. 29) in Costa Rica - the same location for the next round of qualifiers, saw St. Kitts and Nevis being drawn in Group B alongside the United States, Panama and Haiti.

Team St. Kitts and Nevis was drawn as the third ranked team in the group, one that they would be looking to finish in the top two.

Only the top two teams from each of the three groups will progress to the next round of the competition, and in doing so they would also qualify for the U-20 World Cup in Korea later in the year.

The final round of the qualifiers get underway on February 17, 2017, but the Sugar Boys will swing into action on the following day at the Estadio Ricardo Saprissa, where they would do battle with Haiti from 12:30 local time.

Three days later, they will lock horns with Panama at the National Stadium from 14:00 hours before closing out their group play with a game against the United States on February 24 at the Estadio Ricardo Saprissa.

Top teams coming out of that group would then play a round robin format where the top two would then progress to the Finals.

Team St. Kitts and Nevis reached the Finals after qualifying as the best fourth place team from the Caribbean Football Union zone.

During the Final leg in Curacao last month, they lost their opening encounter against Bermuda 3-0 but rebounded to draw with Antigua and Barbuda 2-2.

Needing a victory to keep their chances alive, the youngster however brushed aside the home side 3-1 to qualify.
