BVI, 13 December 2016 - Food handlers and prospective vendors for the upcoming 2016 Old Year’s Party in Great Harbour Jost Van Dyke are urged to register for the event.
Acting Chief Environmental Health Officer, Mrs. Yolanda Penn said all booths must have a temporary hand wash station in place with anti-bacterial liquid hand soap and paper towels. Equipment for holding food at safe temperatures including coolers for ice, chaffing pans and sternos to keep foods hot, hair restraints and disposable gloves must also be present on site. All workers must have a valid food handler’s certificate.
Applications can be collected from the District Officer in Great Harbour and completed and returned to the Environmental Health Division one week prior to the event.
Booths will be inspected on the morning of December 31 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Unlicensed and unregistered food operations will not be allowed to operate.
