Police Press Release: Report of arrests, convictions and other activities

    Basseterre, St. Kitts, December, 21 2016, (RSCNPF):  Below is a report of Arrests, Convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period December 17th – 20th 2016.  

     

    Arrested/Bailed:  Felipe Reyes Garcia of New Town was arrested, formally charged and cautioned of Driving while not being the holder of a driver's license and not being covered by insurance.  He was granted bail in the sum of $5000.00 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Thursday 5th January, 2017.
     
    Bailed:  Leon Francis of St Paul's was granted bail in his own recognizance for the offence of using Threatening Language in the sum of $2000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on his next court date. 
     
    Bailed: A male from St. Kitts residing in Nevis who was arrested and charged for the offence Rape was granted bailed in the sum of Ten Thousand Eastern Caribbean Currency ($10,000.00XCD) with one(1) condition, he is  to surrender all travel documents to the Charlestown Magistrate Court.
     
    OTHER ACTIVITY:
    Search Warrant Executed: Police conducted a number of search warrants over the period of this report. They were in search for controlled drugs, arms and ammunition, stolen goods and document used in the commission of a crime. The warrants were executed in the following area: New Guinea, Mattingley Heights, Pond Road.
     
    House Breaking and Larceny: Police responded to a report of House Breaking and Larceny in Conaree.  A number of items were taken from the home.  The scene was processed and the investigation will continue. 
     
    Larceny: Police responded to a report of Larceny at Coffee Centrale on the Zenway BLVD, owner stated that the business place was secured on Sunday 18th December 2016 and upon return to open at about 08:00hrs on Monday 19th December 2016 discovered a number of items stolen. Inquires revealed the items include one (1) micro wave value unknown, four (4) Bottles of Grey Goose Vodka value unknown, two (2) Large Bottles of Cranberry Juice value unknown, one (1) IPad value $400.00us, one (1) Apple Note Book value $1000.00us, (1) Toshiba T.V value $500.00us, one (1) Pioneer set and Speakers value, $350.00us. The scene was processed by  the Crime Scene Department.
     
    Traffic Accident: There were eight (8) Accidents on the federation’s roadways 5 in St. Kitts and 3 in Nevis during the period of this report
     
    Community Engagement:  Police continue to visit local businesses to provide security tips on how to reduce the risk against crime during the busy shopping period.
     
    Citizen Safety: Police continue to conduct stop and searches, vehicular check points, searches of ferry terminals and marinas and mobile patrols around the Federation. These are being done in efforts to remove illegal firearms, ammunition, illegal drugs and instruments that can be used to commit crimes from our communities.
