Shontella Dore win Employee of the Month for first time 25 December 2016

By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – WORKING at Kajola Kristada for the past three years, she has always been a member of the SMT Line and she always tries to put her best foot forward. But she never expected to win the company’s Employee of the Month (EoM) Award.

It was an ordinary announcement day when the Employee of the Month Committee took to the plant floor with their makeshift instruments to announce the October 2016 EoM.

Sitting at her station on the SMT Line was Shontella Dore and while the Committee was making its rounds, she got a feeling and told one of her colleagues that someone on their like had won.

    And that someone was her.

“They came around with their noise and then went around and I was telling one of my friends that it was someone our line. Then I saw them huddle behind me. They gathered around me. I smiled because I was overwhelmed.

The mother of three told SKNVibes that she always thought to herself that she could not and would not win the award because she was a part of the company for a mere three years.

The EoM award, designed to boost morale and reward employees for sterling performance, is based on attitude, punctuality, good attendance record and discipline among others.

Dore said she cannot recall doing anything different in the month of October but performed as she is accustomed.

“I didn’t expect to win Employee of the Month. I never won it before. I figured that because I just started working here that I couldn’t win it but I did.”

She said she takes pride in doing her job and is particular about punctuality and efficiency.

Dore said her children have already expressed that they are happy with her achievement and she informed that the celebration process has already begun.

    Congratulations, Shontella!
