BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - WITH the biggest event on the Carnival calendar of activities - Inception Fete- just days away, one of the headline acts has arrived in the Federation and he has promised to provide patrons an evening of entertainment and fun.
Controversial Jamaican Dancehall artiste Earlen ‘Alkaline’ Bartley touched down at the RLB International Airport last evening (Dec. 28), several hours after his scheduled arrival time but wasted no time in urging his local fans to come out to see him perform tomorrow night (Dec. 30) at the grounds of the Historic Fort Thomas Hotel.
Popularly known for the darkening of his eyes and his controversial lyrics, the 23-year-old Alkaline has been embroiled in a controversy in the Federation over a year ago when at the last moment he was refused permission to perform on Nevis by sitting Premier Hon. Vance Amory.
However, it was bandied that then Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Hon. Denzil Douglas had given the okay for his concert to be held in St. Kitts.
That concert had seen a larger than expected crowd at Port Zante.
Not speaking much at his arrival since he and Inception Fete officials are expected to address the media at a press conference tomorrow, Alkaline just gave few words and did several promo audio for the event.
“You know, everybody just forward to Inception on the 30th. Alkaline would be there! This is no joke thing, I am here live in persons, so just come out and enjoy yourselves.”
Inception Fete is the only all-inclusive party on the list of events held during the Carnival season.
