BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – Abkim Bryan – who was being sought by the police in relation to the shooting of a bread bus driver and who was subsequently taken into custody - has been formally charged with attempted murder.
The incident for which he is charged took place on January 4, 2017 in Sandy Point when the victim was operating an American Bakery bread delivery bus.
He was reportedly shot in the upper body and was transported to the Joseph N. France General Hospital for treatment.
That incident took place at about 8:00 a.m. and on the same day, the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force issued a bulletin indicating that Bryan – whose alias is Nigel Phillip – was the main suspect in the incident.
He was found during one of a number of operations which took place in District ‘B’ and taken into custody. He however wasn’t formally charged until today (Jan. 7).
The Police, via a press release, have informed that “additional charges against Bryan will be forthcoming”.
Bryan is still in police custody and should make an appearance before the court on Monday (Jan. 9) where it is possible an application for bail would be made.
