Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. January 18th, 2017 -- Lights, Camera, Action; now that’s a wrap. The video for one of the biggest Soca tracks out of New York city is complete and the artiste behind it all is on his way to Trinidad ahead of the Greatest show on earth. Rayzor is coming home again, this time with plans to stay through the Carnival season, mingle, work and have the time of his life.

Rayzor’s got a good sense of purpose. He’s been driven to succeed at everything he gets involved in and Soca is no different. The frontline artiste of New York’s most talked about Soca band- The Request Band, has, ahead of Trinidad and Tobago’s carnival, made some leaps that are bound to pay off. Like other Caribbean entertainers based in the US, the young singer understands the worth of his home base. With that declared he’s already been back and forth between Trinidad and New York, several times between November and December. His single, ‘De Weekend’ has been rising to the occasion, with DJs undoubtedly enjoying the track’s substantive vibe that speaks of the need to unwind with a beverage of choice when the weekend comes around. Understandably, Caribbean people have been gravitating to the track’s easy directives and like steel to magnet, the song’s been pulling Soca lovers closer to Rayzor, daily.

‘De Weekend’ was written by the artiste himself with production done by Sonar Art Productions and Kode 784 Productions. “It’s truly a great feeling to have gotten to this point. My journey has only just begun in Trinidad and the Caribbean, but this is home and home’s got to know who I am,” he said recently. The video for the song has been completed and with plans for release very soon, Rayzor is making it known that he’s on his way back to the land of his humble beginnings. Like other Soca acts, Yankey Boy, Patch, Lyrikal and GBM Nutron, he’s got the support of many US based Caribbean Soca lovers. “It’s a great feeling to do this music and my aim is to represent Soca to the best of my ability, wherever in the world I stand. We do this with passion and love and returning home, to where it all started, is surreal,” he said.
