Juvenile reportedly shot in leg while in his yard

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A teenager is reported to be the Federation’s most-recent shooting victim.

     

    The incident transpired on Monday (Jan. 23) evening at Upper Shaw Avenue, Basseterre.

     

    The incident was confirmed by Deputy Commissioner of Police Hilroy Brandy since Tuesday morning and a press release was promised but it has yet to be disseminated.

     

    However, District ‘A’ Commander Superintendent Cromwell Henry informed SKNVibes that at about 10:30 p.m., police responded to a shooting report. 

     

    He explained that according to the victim’s explanation, he was outside of his house feeding his puppies when a lone masked individual jumped over the wall fence and fired two shots in his direction.

     

    As a result, the 16 year old was shot in his left leg. 

     

    He was reportedly taken to the Joseph N. France General Hospital via private vehicle where he was treated and is warded in stable condition.

     

    Investigations are being made.

     

    And as is the custom, the Police is asking for individuals who have information about this incident to come forward to relate the same to the authorities by calling 465-2241 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477(TIPS).
