Teachers’ bags stolen from classrooms at Beach Allen Primary

By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TEACHERS at the Beach Allen Primary School were taken aback yesterday (Feb. 1) morning when their bags, which they had left in their classroom(s), were stolen.

SKNVibes understands that the incident occurred while staff and students of the institution were engaged in morning assembly.

It is further understood that when the teachers got back to their classroom(s), they discovered that their bags were missing.

It is suspected that while the assembly was taking place, an individual or individuals gained access to the school’s compound via the northern portion of the fence, and removed the bags.

Additional information received by SKNVibes suggests that the bags contained a number of personal effects including electronic items, money, keys and identification cards.

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force’s Mobile Command Centre was – on that day – positioned on the plot of land between the Beach Allen Primary and the Washington Archibald High Schools. Following the incident, officers stationed there were reportedly informed of the situation, to which they responded.

The officers left the scene reportedly promising that members of the Criminal Investigations Department – who would be in a better position to deal with the investigation – would have visited the school sometime during the course of the day.

This publication understands that the officers did visit the school shortly before 4:00 p.m.

Investigations into the incident are being made.
