Dollar Stretcher proprietor “attacked” by masked individuals

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE proprietor of Dollar Stretcher – St. Clair Warner – was reportedly attacked by a couple of masked individuals while in the vicinity of his Stadium View, Sandy Point home on Saturday (Feb. 4) evening.

Superintendent Lionel Moore, Commander of the B Division, told SKNVibes that the incident occurred sometime after 10:00 p.m. after Warner had secured his business located in Cleverly Hill, Sandy Point.

He said while Warner was at the Stadium View property, he was approached by the masked individuals who “attacked him”.

The Superintendent further informed that Warner raised an alarm which caused the bandits to flee the scene. He said he received no report that Warner was injured as a result of the incident and he was not relieved of any money or any of his personal items.

The Commander said there is reason to believe that the perpetrators were lurking among some nearby bushes for Warner to arrive at his home.

He expressed his view that criminal elements are paying keen attention to the goings and comings of business owners and operators and, as such, they “have to be more careful”.

Additionally, “We the police will be working along with them to ensure their safety and security… The police are on heightened alert doing stop and searches, VCPs and so on. But notwithstanding, there are criminal elements among us and they are paying attention. And really and truly, they are trying to defeat us in whatever way they can…

‘So it if takes that the police have to escort them (business owners and operators) home after business, we will do that,” Superintendent Moore asserted.

He said officers are continuing their investigations into the incident.
