BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – KICKING off the year’s winners of Kajola Kristada’s Employee of the Month programme, is Joan Small.
Small was recently announced the winner of the January 2017 award, making this her second win. She first won in April 2009.
An employee of the business for about 18 years, Small works on the Supertrap Line and also performs duties on the Tear Traps and the Tunable Moca Lines.
Her supervisor Valarie Adams told SKNVibes that Small is very dependable and can easily perform any task set in front of her.
“She is one of the most experienced workers we have in terms of years. She has been here since 1999 and she has a wonderful attendance. Punctuality and everything else is well. On the three lines, we have a critical job by the name of notching and she could notch everything…without any issue.”
The January 2017 Employee of the Month did nothing different in that month but gave her usual best in ensuring that she completes her tasks on a daily basis.
“I haven’t done anything extra special in January. Whatever they tell me to do, I do it without complaint or issue. I am always present and always on time. They can count on me anytime to go anywhere to work. And I always try and meet my target. I reach it most of the time and when I don’t reach it I try to complete at least 90 percent of it.”
Small is the mother of a 16-yar-old girl whom she said she has informed of her win. She said her daughter congratulated her and gave a piece of advice which drew laughter from her.
“When I told her about my win she said, ‘Mommy make sure you look nice because you are going to be on SKNVibes’.”
