US $250 million for hospitals

By: First Care, Press Release

February 22nd, 2017 -- Many public hospitals in the region are challenged to provide adequate care because of a lack of funds.  First Care International, its partners and donors, will provide up to US $250 million in grant funding.

Given the serious situation hospitals are facing, the company will fast track its program to make funding available as early March 1st, 2017.  This is a hassle free process with approval within a week subject to the acceptance of terms and conditions.

Hospitals are poised to benefit from health care technology such as Telemedicine. With over 400 board-certified doctors in the USA and other countries accessible through Telemedicine, patients in the accident and emergency (A&E) department can have their waiting time reduced in some instances through the face-to-face video consultations with these doctors that this service allows. They could get second opinions before surgery and answers to their serious health questions. Additional Telemedicine equipment could also help in the diagnosing of certain illnesses.

The technology is invaluable in cases where the ambulance has to travel far distances to collect a patient. Ambulances outfitted with a Telemedicine system allow the doctor at the hospital to have face-to-face consultation while the ambulance is traveling to the hospital. The doctor at the hospital receives the vital signs in real time and can advise the paramedics in the ambulance what to do. Furthermore, the doctor would also be able to speak with and comfort the patient while on the way to the hospital. This investment is part of the grant funding.

The funding also covers a percentage of the daily cost for pharmaceuticals. Hospitals can take advantage of the funding for this purpose immediately. Health ministries and hospital administrators are encouraged to make their requests known as soon as possible to take advantage of this limited grant funding.

Part of the health care grant has been set aside for health education for the region. First Care International is launching in a few weeks a health show on the regional cable channel Caribvison. A preview of the show can be seen by the visiting the company’s website www.firstcareint.com and clicking on the Media tab. The objective of the show is to help viewers take responsibility for their health by managing it properly. The FirstCareInt.com Health Show is both educational and engaging. Every week experts help to address physical, mental and emotional health issues and give advice on topics like diet, nutrition and managing stress. Viewers can even win prizes just for watching the show.

The introduction of Telemedicine can possibly not only save lives, but also save personal and government expense. Patients in many cases will no longer have to travel abroad for consultations, since they can now have that consultation done in a dedicated room at the local hospital. That face-to-face video consultation is done in the presence of a local physician and possibly a family member or friend if requested by the patient. The use of Telemedicine can save vital foreign exchange, increase productivity and improve the lives of patients.  Hospitals, doctors, ministries of health officials and patients may contact the company by email at admin@firstcareint.com or visit their website www.firstcareint.com for more information. The deadline for application for grant funding is March 1, 2017.
