Final Music Festival acts revealed, ‘Voice’ to perform

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE Music Festival Committee, as promised, has released the names of the final artistes that would be performing at the 21st Edition of the Festival in June.

     

    Aaron “Voice” St. Louis, Lyrikal, Ricardo Dru, Teddyson John, the Third World band of Jamaica, Phyllisia Ross and Ed Robinson have been added to the lineup for the four-night event.

     

    These go with the earlier released names of Mavado, Jah Cure, Goo Goo Dolls and Shabba Ranks.

     

    In a press statement issued today (Feb. 28), the Committee indicated that ‘Voice’ is the reigning International Soca Monarch, a fete he achieved at last week’s competition held in Trinidad.

     

    He is best known for his “Cheers to Life” lyrics while Lyrikal is known for “Cloud 9” and “Loner” among others.

     

    St. Lucian Teddyson John, is also popular, with his ‘Allez’, ‘Land of Wine’ and ‘Oh Gal’ songs.

     

    The Third World Band – which was formed in 1973 - is known for many of its pieces including ‘96 Degrees in the shade’, ‘Now That We Found Love’, ‘Dancing on the Floor’, ‘Roots With Quality’ and ‘Jah Glory’.

     

    Included in Ed Robinson’s repertoire are ‘Knocking on Heaven's Door’ and ‘If I Follow My Heart’ ,while Phyllisia Ross’ includes ‘Konsa’ and ‘Call on me’ which she performed with Jah Cure.

     

    This year’s Music Festival takes place from June 22-24 at the Warner Park Football Stadium.
