What do you hope to gain by entering this pageant?
By entering this pageant I can increase my public speaking skills and my self-esteem, which would help me to become a positive leader. I expect my peers to see me as a role model as I portray team spirit and willingly represent my school with respect, pride and dignity.
What do you think are the major problems that affect teenagers today and how would you solve them?
Some of the problems that affect teenagers the most are gang violence, juvenile delinquency and teenage pregnancy, which leads to an incomplete education. To eliminate these problems, I think parents need to become more interested in their children’s whereabouts and also their friends. The fathers need to take an active role in their children’s lives. I would also like to see additional classes geared toward helping high school drop-outs gain an education. These are just a few of the recommendations that I think would help solve the problems affecting teens.
