This position assists with all forecasting, planning and analysis (FP&A) duties, recent business acquisitions and future adjacencies. This role supervises financial analysts to conduct the aforementioned FP&A work streams. Additionally, this role is also involved in performing due diligence on new markets and target acquisition companies for strategic fit and financial viability, prior to involvement with FP&A.
Responsibilities
• Oversees financial statement reporting for month end close, forecasts, annual operating plan, strategic plan and ad hoc requests.
• Manages financial consolidations.
• Manages forecast and annual operating plan process.
• Works with Information Technology or operations as needed to identify and implement systems or process efficiencies.
• Leads process improvement and/or income generating projects as needed.
• Develop business plans to support expansion and market entry strategies.
• Conduct market research relating to new credentials, geographic markets, and training segments.
• Mine understanding of competitive landscape, drivers of consumer demand, product features & functionality, and opportunities to enter market/product segments.
• Evaluate best entry strategy: acquisition, licensing, reseller, build, etc. to better understand how best to leverage division’s strengths and minimize weaknesses/risks.
• Synthesize information into concise overview of opportunities, recommendations, and actions required to capitalize on opportunities, including human and capital investment requirements.
• Present recommendations to senior leadership team of the division, including rationale and requirements of success, challenges to market entry, risks, and mitigation plans.
• Completes other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's Degree in finance or accounting is required
• 5 years of experience in financial planning, analytics is required or related fields
• Experience with mergers and acquisitions is preferred and expertise with database queries is preferred
