A free webinar organized by IICA and Embassies of Latin America in Canada (GRULA Ottawa) will seek to strengthen trade between the region and the North American country
San Jose, 11 February 2022 (IICA) - Latin American winemakers will learn from experts in the sector about their experiences, challenges and best practices, in order to provide their wine products with greater access to Canadian consumers.
At the initiative of the Delegation in Canada of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and Embassies of Latin America in Canada (GRULA Ottawa), a seminar will be held to strengthen trade ties and generate business opportunities between the countries of the hemisphere.
The activity will be free of charge. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Interested participants may register at https://bit.ly/3GyUb4N.
IICA Goodwill Ambassador and Argentinean winemaker and oenologist Susana Balbo; the director of California Wines at Canada, Danielle Giroux; and Jan Westcott, Executive Director of Spirits Canada, will participate in the event.
The event forms part of the activities of the IICA Delegation in Canada, many of which are aimed at fostering trade with Latin American and Caribbean nations.
Jean Charles Le Vallee, IICA Representative in Canada, announced that, among the scheduled activities for 2022, the Delegation will carry out seminars to foster trade between Canada and Bolivia, training sessions on sustainability standards and sustainability in livestock farming, as well as knowledge-sharing activities on animal and plant health and climate change, among other topics.
