Eulogy Stanley Emanuel Laws Jr. Stanley Emanual Laws was born on April 27, 1957 on the beautiful island of St. Kitts to Mr. Stanley Laws Sr. and Ms. Shirley Sargeant. He attended grade school in St. Kitts as a young lad. As a young man, he was encouraged by his uncle Franklin Laws, and his cousin Xavier, to leave the island of St. Kitts and pursue his studies in Barbados.
There he learned a trade, and he became quite skilled as a Technician, repairing copy machines and other office equipment. During his time in the Virgin Islands, he was employed by Business World, Ltd. and was a well requested and well respected technician. It was during his time in Barbados, that he met and married his first wife Joy Wade.
From this union, they were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Aisha and Nadia Laws. Well into the marriage, Joy became very ill after being diagnosed with multiple schlorosis. As a dutiful husband, and honoring his vows without wavering, he devoted his time and tended to her needs, until her death in the year 2000. A few years after his loss, Stanley was blessed to experience love again when he met Charlene in the summer of 2005. They were married on February 4th 2006.
There is a saying that says: “the way to a man’s heart is through to his stomach”. Stanley always bragged about Charlene’s talents in the kitchen. Charlene’s words were: “he was my husband… my spoiled child…I just wanted him to be happy”. Not to be out done, Stanley had some skills and knew his way around the kitchen as well. Charlene and Stanley enjoyed spending time together, especially taking long walks together in the morning and travelling. Some of the memorable trips included visits to the Hoover Dam, Las Vegas and Grand Canyon.
Their favorite way to travel however was by boat, and had many a cruise under their belt. Stanley loved all of his family. He took on the role of father and mother to his girls, and after marrying Charlene, father to her son. He loved his children and grandchildren. He kept in contact with everyone, whether by phone, facebook, facetime, whatsapp, or email he used technology to ensure everyone stayed in contact. His conversations were always interesting and engaging.
On Tuesday, June 16, 2015, Stanley departed this earthly life for his final rest in the arms of our Lord and Savior. He leaves behind a wonderful legacy of how we should be as a loving and caring family. Stanley’s death is a great loss to our family and we will miss him immensely. We have hope however in knowing that he also loved the Lord and had a relationship with him.
May he rest in eternal peace.
