Cable & Wireless hosts Caribbean-wide LIME

St. Kitts-Nevis LIME Country Manager, David Lake, unveils the company’s new look
BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - CABLE & WIRELESS customers across the Caribbean on Monday, November 3 will witness a complete transformation of the bMobile services they are accustomed to into an all-new customer service centric Landline, Internet, Mobile and Entertainment (LIME) approach to telecommunications.

This was unveiled at a special press conference today (Oct. 31) by the newly-appointed St. Kitts-Nevis LIME Country Manager, David Lake.

“The transformation [from Cable & Wireless bMobile] to LIME is more than a name change or a new look…today we launch a new business.”

While current Cable & Wireless customers will still receive all of the great services they have known in the past, LIME is projected to provide an entirely new level of services designed to “provide the best value for our customers, even if at times it means we lose a buck or two,” Lake said.

Among the customer service promises outlined in the LIME manifesto are contact centre calls to be answered in less than one minute, a commitment to never leave customers without some form of communication for more than 24 hours (even in disaster situations) and an eventual upgrade to a 3G network - meaning the Caribbean will now have a high speed network at the cutting edge of world technology.

Telecommunications will not be the only focus of LIME, however. The company aims to set itself apart from its competitors by introducing a number of community enhancement initiatives that will improve life for people across the Caribbean.

“From standing at the center of recovery efforts during times of national emergency to investing more than US$5M into major

carnivals, which celebrate culture, music, dance and ‘Caribbeanness’, LIME works tirelessly to make things better for Caribbean communities,” LIME’s Chief Executive, Richard Dodd, said via video message.

Other community efforts include a computer with internet connection for all primary school students either at or after school, a “LIME Green” initiative that will see paper wastage reduced by 15 percent, and a “Caribbean first” policy for all products and services LIME utilises.

SKNVibes asked Lake what would become of customer favorite bMobile services, such as the Double Bubble top-up service, under LIME.

“Let me just say that we have stuff coming out that will make Double Bubble look like a cheapskate,” Lake said, adding that the first such top-secret service would be unveiled “one week from today” (Nov. 7).

The public is encouraged to visit the newly opened LIME offices in St. Kitts-Nevis (former Cable & Wireless service centres) this Monday (Nov. 3), where they will have a chance to preview the companies chic new look (black and white with six accent colours) and have their questions answered by its executives.
