What makes you unique?

My name -  Kimani - is indeed unique.  It is of African-American origin and means - One who is beautiful and sweet - . There is also my ability to adapt easily to new or unfamiliar situations...to change my colors like a chameleon.

Where are you from? If you were to use two adjectives that describe your community and which also describe you as a person, what would those adjectives be?

Although I currently live in the very serene environment of Half Way Tree, I think it is important to state that I was raised in St. Paul’s where many greats have come from.  However two adjectives that immediately come to mind to describe both these two communities and which also describe me as a person are vibrant and beautiful.

To whom would you attribute your success(es) in life thus far?

Every single person with whom I have come into contact has contributed in some way to my successes thus far. My experiences with them have all helped to mould me. Naturally the impact of each experience and each person varies. However, my mother has been the single most important person who has impacted life.  She is a truly determined and hardworking single mother with an unbelievable drive to succeed and that has inspired me to do my BEST. I must mention my former teachers, mentors, well wishers and friends whom I hold in high regard.  There are also those who utter unpleasant remarks for strangely their negativity and pessimism motivate me to do better and be a better person.

What do you hope to gain by participating in a pageant of this nature?

Entering a pageant of this nature is a way of challenging myself.  Also, it will build my confidence, improve on poise, establish new relationships and afford me the opportunity to explore new avenues.  I am happy that during this pageant will be able to showcase my versatile side to St. Kitts and Nevis.

What does Independence mean to you on a personal level?

On a personal level, Independence means being FREE to express myself in my own unique way without fear.  It means that I am aware of and hold dear to my heart the personal philosophies that guide me.  It means that I am now able to set high goals and and work diligently towards them.

What other significant achievements would you like to see in the Federation over the next 25 years?

Over the next 225 years, I hope there is a more diversified economy, additional employment opportunities, greater attention to agriculture, a lowering of our debt, better allocation of taxes and greater emphasis on social development. Also and very importantly, I trust that our people will achieve a heightened level of consciousness and become more united for the greater good of the nation.
