14-year-old runs over toddler with car

By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A 22-month-old girl died on Saturday afternoon (Jul. 3) allegedly at the hands of a 14-year-old boy, who at the time was in operation of a motor vehicle.

SKNVibes has learnt from reliable sources that the lad was asked to clean a motorcar, which was parked in the yard of Alison and Nelcia Jones of Fountain Village, and was in the process of doing so when the incident occurred.

This media house further understands that the teenager allegedly attempted to move the vehicle from its stationary position and, while doing so, he ran over the unidentified toddler.

She was rushed to the Alexandra Hospital in private transportation for treatment and succumbed to her injuries while there.

SKNVibes understands that a post mortem was performed on the remains of the toddler and while the official cause of death has yet to be released, she is said to have suffered broken ribs and punctured organs.

A police source that was contacted said “it is likely” that criminal charges would be levelled against the 14-year-old, when asked the question.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing and information from the police is expected to be released soon
