Armed bandits rob TDC Sandy Point Branch

By: Stanford Conway, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TWO armed men this afternoon (Oct. 29) robbed the Sandy Point Branch of TDC of an undisclosed sum of money.

Information reaching SKNVibes indicates that shortly after 3:00 p.m. two masked men - one wearing a ‘hoodie’ and armed with a handgun, and the other with “what appeared to be an AK47” - entered the main entrance to the TDC Branch and robbed the business entity of an undisclosed sum of money.

This information was confirmed by an employee, who stated that after committing the crime the two bandits jumped over the perimeter fence of the compound that houses the business entity.

The employee also stated that the police in Sandy Point were notified and, on arrival at the scene, gave chase after the thieves. However, at press time this media house received no word of their capture or escape.

This has been the second time in 11 days that bandits had targeted the TDC Branch.
On Monday, October 18, Senior Supervisor Leslian Daniel told SKNVibes that the building was last secured on Saturday (Oct. 16) at about 12:30 in the afternoon with all things being in order.

He further explained that when the staff returned to work shortly after 7:20 a.m. the following Monday, they discovered papers were strewn about and a vault that was left standing in an upright position was found on its back.

Daniel said that whoever the perpetrator(s) were, it appeared that they tried to open the vault but were unsuccessful in their attempt. He however informed that the thieves made off with a number of small items from the entity.

Both incidents are under police investigation.
