By: Stanford Conway, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A holidaying American couple was on Wednesday night (Mar. 2) robbed at gunpoint while walking on their way to the St. Kitts Marriott Hotel.

Information reaching this publication states that the married couple had visited Kathy’s Bar & Grill at The Strip in Frigate Bay and, at approximately10:00 p.m., while on their way to the St. Kitts Marriott Hotel a car drove up to them and two masked men got out and robbed them at gunpoint.

A source revealed to SKNVibes that the incident took place along the road that runs east to west between The Strip and the roundabout next to the Sir Kennedy Simmonds Highway. The source also revealed that during the robbery “a gun was placed to the man’s head and his wife was manhandled a bit”.

It was further revealed that the husband’s parents are timeshare owners at the St. Kitts Marriott Hotel and for many years they have been visitors to the Federation.

This media house had contacted the police who confirmed that the incident did take place. They informed that one man was in custody along with a vehicle, but he has since been released. However, the vehicle is still in police custody as investigations are ongoing.
