BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TWO series of shots were fired this morning in the southeastern section of Newtown, Basseterre, which forced some residents to remain behind locked doors and windows while one individual sought cover under his bed.
Reports reaching SKNVibes state that at about 8:50 this morning, an undisclosed number of young men were seen running and firing shots indiscriminately from handguns in the vicinity of Madhouse Alley in Newtown.
On arrival in the area some 40 minutes after the incident, this media house was informed that law-abiding residents are petrified over the shooting incident and past gun-related deaths, including that of 18-year-old Darnel Webster.
Webster was shot and killed last Saturday at approximately 9:30 p.m. while walking along Sandown Road in the vicinity of the Basseterre Fire Station.
Most of the residents spoken to declined to comment, while a few others gave sketchy details of what transpired this morning.
According to an unconfirmed report, there was another shooting incident this morning, also in the Newtown area, which resulted in the injury of an individual.
SKNVibes contacted the Police to ascertain the report but was told investigations were ongoing.

My name - Kimani - is indeed unique. It is of African-American origin and means - One who is beautiful and sweet - . There is also my ability to adapt easily to new or unfamiliar situations...to change my colors like a chameleon. Where are you from? If you were to use two adjectives that describe your community and which also describe you as a person, what would those adjectives be?
