BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A member of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force was treated for minor injuries after being involved in a traffic accident that took place on the Island’s Main Road on Monday (Nov. 2).

Head of the Traffic Department, Inspector Cromwell explained to SKNVibes that at about 9:00 a.m., a collision occurred between police motorcycle P800, which was ridden by Traffic Police Officer Clive Wilson, and motorcar PA4343 owned and driven by Dave Esdaille of Lime Kiln.

The Inspector explained that the motorcycle was travelling towards Basseterre and when in the vicinity of Recardo’s Home Centre (in the area of Needs Must) a collision occurred as the motorcar attempted to exit the yard of the home centre.

He stated that both vehicles sustained some measure of damage and while no mention was made of injuries to Esdaille, he informed that the Police Officer sustained injuries to his hand and was taken to the Joseph N. France General Hospital, where he was treated and discharged.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
