As day two (2) of COFCOR continued, CARICOM Ministers and senior officials regrouped in Belize City, Belize to resume discussions on issues prevalent to the Community's future policies.
Among many of the matters discussed, focus was drawn to the CARICOM- Haiti collaboration programme which is intended to prepare Haiti for more effective participation in the Community. ~~adz:Right~~
CARICOM is therefore working assiduously to ensure a speedy and full incorporation process of Haiti into the Community.
Efforts made to accomplish this programme include:
I. Establishment of working groups in Haiti to carry out technical work in the areas of customs and tax administrations
II. Preparations for trade of goods
III. Preparations to be fully committed to the CSME and
IV. Re-establishment of the CARICOM Representation Office in Port-au-Prince.
Members States expressed their desire to make the Community's programme on Haiti a fructiferous one.
