    BVI Teachers Union Donates Cots to Cadet Core, Red Cross and DDM

     


    ~~Adz:Right~~The BVITU has donated a total of 75 cots; 25 to the BVI Red Cross, 25 to the Virgin Islands Cadet Corps and 25 to the BVI Department of Disaster Management.

     

    The presentation took place on the 23rd December at the BVI Red Cross office. Mrs. Edris O’Neal the Director of the BVI Red Cross accepted on behalf of the Red Cross and stated that the local Red Cross is an organization that depends heavily on donations from individuals and businesses in the community. She thanked the BVITU, and explained that the donation was timely since the cots in possession by the Red Cross are not in the best conditions.

     

    Mr. Zebalon McLean Deputy Director of the DDM accepted the donation and thanked the BVITU. He stated that it was a great thing that the Union has done in providing the three organizations with the Cots which he referred to as great resources.

     

    Capt Raul Gibbons, of the Cadet Corps also thanked the Union and mentioned that the Cadet Corps is a new organization and that they need all of the assistance they can get.

     

    President of the BVITU Cecil Hodge explained that the three Organizations were chosen because he believed that they will benefit significantly from the donation.
