    Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 13th, 2005 The National Star Service Award for excellence in service, was bestowed upon Delano Liburd, a recent graduate of the Nathaniel John Hospitality division of the Clarence-Fitzroy Bryant(CFB) College.
     
    Mr Liburd is one of nine representatives from St. Kitts and Nevis, participating in a nine month internship programme, at the American Hospitality Academy(AHA), South Carolina, USA.   After just two months on the programme, he was given the National Star Service Award for the month of September, due to his outstanding performance at the Kingfisher restaurant. 
     
    According to an AHA programme administrator, since the first time he arrived to the program and his property he had a positive attitude and the willingness to make the most out of his internship experience.  Delano has not only sought to learn as much as he could from the internship, but he has used the opportunity to share information about St. Kitts and Nevis. The administrator added, he is also constantly sharing his culture. Not long time ago he prepared a brief presentation on his country during a weekly seminar..... creating awareness about St. Kitts & Nevis. He prepared a beautiful Power Point presentation.
     
    Marsha Bassue, Lecturer at the Hospitality division of the CFB College shared Mr Liburd's professional dream,  he hopes to open his own restaurant one day, where he will prepare meals of the world .   
     
    The American Hospitality Academy (AHA), is one of the leading hospitality institutes, known for its international cultural exchange, academic and practical training in the areas of Food Services, Room Division, Resort Activities, Culinary and Hospitality Administration.  The internship programme is being funded by the European Union(EU) and administered regionally by the School of Hotel Management, Dominican Republic and locally, by the St. Kitts Tourism Authority.
     
    The St. Kitts Tourism Authority's mandate includes the enhancement of the human resource skills within the overall development of the island's tourism product.
