Why do older women date younger men?

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – IT is believed in some quarters that while some women are satisfied in a relationship with older men, there are others who prefer ‘spring chickens’ [young men] who are sometimes young enough to be their sons.
It is also the belief of many that younger men possess more stamina than their older counterparts and no woman wants to be bedded with a man who would leave her dissatisfied.
In order to ascertain this seemingly growing trend in St. Kitts, SKNVibes took to the streets of Basseterre and penned the various perceptions of a number of individuals of both sexes.
A 22-year-old named Meach said older women prefer younger men because they make them feel young. She also claimed some women believe that as partners, they are sexually compatible and they could enjoy a more modern kind of sex with the younger men.
She also said older men come with ex-wives and kids as well as other baggage while younger men are not likely to be in possession of such hindrances to a lovely and exciting relationship.
“A young man would be ‘fresh’,” she said, in terms of his appearance.
Another individual noted that there are some women who love the idea of being in control and to know that whenever they desire the presence of their young paramours, they would quickly and obediently be at their beck and call.
She also asserted that in most relationships it is the older partner who provides whatever the other requires. “So, in these cases, that partner run things,” she added.
Beulah [42] posits that the majority of older women who date young men are in managerial positions, run their own businesses or have degrees. Therefore, they make much more money than the young men; hence putting themselves in charge and telling the young men what to do while providing them with material goods such as name-brand garments and footwear.
Keasher, who is in her mid 30s, said she would do whatever it takes to keep her young man as long as he can “service my engine and make me feel young again”.
According to a young male, who is current involved in a similar relationship and would like to be known as Mr. Anonymous, he is not ashamed that his girlfriend is older.
Mr. Anonymous also said he feels older women date younger men because they want to inject a little youth back into their lifestyle.
He added that one of the reasons why older women date younger men is because some older men have led women to heartache repeatedly and some women love and want to feel the thrill of being with a younger man.
He also said older women could offer pleasures that most women his age might not be able to provide because of inexperience.
Tammy is also dating a younger man and, contrary to what many people believe, not all older women have to spend their money on them.
In fact, she said he treats her very well and he is the one that does the spending most of the times.
She said sometimes it is not that women want to be with younger men, but they just cannot help themselves with whom they fall in love.
Another young man [18] said his woman is 31 years old and the age difference does not matter to him. He said he is often teased by many people who refer to her as his mother when they are out together.
“But that does not matter to me because I know why I’m with her. It is not because of what she does for me, it is simply the fact that I love the way she makes me feel, not just sexually but also emotionally. I find that young girls my age play too many games and I am easily turned off by that,” he said.
Twenty-one-year-old Javid says he sees nothing wrong with older women dating younger men, but it must be for the right reasons.
“Age is only a number and if your heart says yes, then why would you allow your age to say no?” he asked.
