GENERAL OVERVIEW

Cashier responsibilities include receiving payments, issuing receipts, and keeping track of all transactions. With previous experience, a Cashier will be knowledgeable of how cash systems operate. Customer service is key, and the Cashier is expected to be courteous and friendly.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Greet Customers upon arrival at the checkout counter.

· Receive payment for goods by cash, cheques, debit and credit cards and shoppers’ vouchers.

· Issue receipts and approved credits or refunds due to Customers.

· Establish prices of goods using calculators, computerized systems, or optical price scanners.

· Conduct price checks in response to Customer’s enquiries.

· Close-off sales at the end of each individual shift, via tallying of receipts in individual cash tills (prior to placement in the vault)

· Assist with execution of special promotions on products.

· Offer general assistance to Customers with locating goods needed for purchase.

· Assist Customers with questions about the product(s).

· Encourage Customers to enroll in the Ram’s Customer Loyalty Program.

· Resolve Customer complaints, guide and provide relevant information.

· Cross sell products and introduce new ones.

· Promptly check out Customers while meetings Company goals.

· Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.

· Other duties which may be assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

· High School Diploma.

· 1 year working experience.

· Familiar with electronic equipment like POS and cash operating systems.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Strong organizational and time management skills.

· Be able to effectively work in a team environment.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

· Excellent math skills.

· Great attention to detail.

· Valid food handler’s permit.
