BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - VETERAN dancehall singer Rodney Price, popularly known as Bounty Killer, War Lord or the Poor people’s Governor, is celebrating his 37th birth anniversary today (June 12).

Price, who is the leader of the Alliance Crew, is known for his long-standing feud with his dancehall counterpart Beenie Man and also his one-time friend Vybz Kartel, leader of Portmore Empire.

According to 876radio.com, the ‘cross, angry’ singer would be celebrating his birthday in style tomorrow (June 13) with his signature event - ‘It’s Tha Party’.

His career started back in the 1990s when he was encouraged by his friend and deejay Boom Dandymite to hang around the studio of producer King Jammy.

Soon after, this led to Price making one of his first songs, ‘Coppershot’. He then became a household name in Jamaica due to his well-received performance at the annual hardcore festival ‘Sting’.

Some of his past hits include ‘Poor People Fed up’, ‘Down in the Ghetto’, ‘Babylon System’ and ‘Mama’.

On June 21, Price is expected to perform at the Brooklyn Music Festival after which he will fly to Atlanta to perform at Club Amnesia, followed by a number of other events leading to August.
