In light of a recent appeal for funds on behalf of a member of the public by the NMHF (Nevis Maternal Health Fund), J and J Medical Services and Dr. Jessica Bardales, and the subsequent suspension of the activity, we wish to state the following:
NMHF, its members and associates take with utmost seriousness our efforts to improve the health and well being of members of our community. These efforts are always supported by the participation and, in some cases, generous gifts of similarly minded citizens and friends of the St. Kitts-Nevis community here and abroad.
All transactions in support of our goals, be it purchasing of equipment for our hospital, health awareness campaigns or helping with medical expenses, have been done with the highest regard for honesty and transparency for more than a decade. We expect no less from any member of the public requesting assistance from us.
The many articles written by the founder of our organization, sharing her blessings and hopes in spite of her many struggles faced as a stage 4 breast cancer survivor, are done with love, hoping to help in any possible way the many in our community and abroad suffering from the scourges of cancer in any form, as the Lord helps her.
We apologize to our friends, supporters, donor community and the general public for the recently suspended appeal for funds as the veracity of the claims made could not be fully substantiated.
All donors who have contributed any sum through us have been duly notified and their funds returned.
