May 20th, 2017 -- The St Kitts diabetes association in collaboration with the St Kitts Seventh day Adventist Church, held a diabetes screening exercise from amongst the attendees at a church function held today May 20 the 2017.
President Christene Wattley and Vice President Davida Irish as well as Young Leaders group representative, Jermaine James, were on hand to Carry out the various testing modalities, including blood pressure, blood sugar as well as weight and height measurements.
This exercise is in keeping with the mandate of this executive of the association, to do as much testing and education, as regularly as possible, in a wide variety of settings, both amongst children and adults.
The exercise was deemed to be successful by all who participated, and certainly welcomed by the Church organisation.
It is our intention to carry on our widespread screening, with the next intervention to take place in one of our rural primary schools.
