BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – BANDITS continue to make unhappy the lives of some business owners, private citizens and residents of St. Kitts, as information reaching SKNVibes states that thieves had broken into the General Post Office (GPO) in Basseterre and carted off a number of items.
This incident, which was confirmed by the police, had occurred either last night or early this morning (Jun. 19).
According to reports, the GPO, which is located on the ground floor of the building that houses the Inland Revenue Department on the Bay Road in Basseterre, was discovered broken into when staff members reported for work this morning.
Sources claimed that among the items stolen are cash; postage stamps; several packages containing phones, footwear, clothing and electronics.
It is also claimed that items were stolen from a vault.
Police have indicated that details of the break-in and burglary would be disseminated via a press release.
