Water Service Interruption

Water consumers in West Basseterre and Rural West communities all the way to Halfway Tree will experience service interruptions during today and into tomorrow. This is as a result of silting and clogging of our surface water intakes during the torrential rainfall produced by the passage of the tropical wave late last night and into today Thursday 29 June 2017.

Consumers in St. Peters, Frigate Bay, Bird Rock and South East Peninsula may experience low water pressure and service interruptions due to power outages in the Basseterre Valley associated with the passage of the tropical wave.

SKELEC has dispatched crews to start repairs and we are hopeful that power will be returned during the course of this afternoon.

All concerned are therefore asked to take note and collect water for emergency use for the next 24 hours. The Water Services Department apologises for any inconvenience this interruption in service may cause.

    Signed,
    Manager/Water Engineer
