Mini Summit of St. Kitts Nevis HR Professionals was held here last Thursday, July 6, under the theme, “Exploring the Value of Collaboration.”

    July 14th 2017 -- Mrs. J. Sonia Edwards, Founder of the Human Resource Solution, spearheaded this summit. Through her professional work with organizations in the Caribbean, Latin America and the United States, Mrs. Edwards has earned a reputation as an enthusiastic human resource management professional.  She has the distinction of creating and implementing Human Resource processes that increase clarity and productivity, providing people management coaching and support that is easy to implement in small  and medium sized businesses. 

     

    Attendees benefitted from three inspiring, yet challenging presentations from three very influential leaders in their field. Mrs. J Sonia Edwards MS PHR, founder of The Human Resource Solution presented on: Critical Competencies of the HR Leader. Mrs. Janelle Doharty, MS, PHR, SHRM-CP, President, Human Resource Association of Broward County (Florida) spoke on  “The Benefits of Networking within an Association of HR Professionals” Mrs. Doharty has been described as a dynamic, result-oriented human resources professional with a proven ability to implement modern, strategic human resource initiatives, help executive management assess organizational structure, develop credible guidelines and efficient processes, and implement cost saving measures and enhancements. Keynote Motivational Address was delivered by Ms. Telly V Onu of Quintessence Consulting Incorporated
             
    As CEO of Quintessence Consulting Incorporated, she promotes the growth and development of emerging and growth stage companies. Ms. Onu presented on the topic “The Value of Collaboration to Leverage Innovation.” She leveraged her depth of business leadership competence to motivate the HR Professionals to consider systems that help them to both collaborate and innovate in order to maximize the value of talent management in their organizations. 
     
    The proceedings was chaired by Mrs. Ionie Liburd Willett, Transformational Coach. In the words of the Chair, “Human Resources Management is about the management of people. In contemporary times, advances in technology have caused shifts in how people work, communicate and collaborate. I believe that a climate for successful collaboration has been fostered with the the guidance of the three presenters.” 

    This Mini Summit could not have been successful without the collaboration of several entities: 
     
    First, Mrs. J. Sonia Edwards for the vision for this Mini Summit, first of its kind here in the Federation.
     
    Our Keynote Motivational Speaker, Ms. Telly Onu, and Mrs. Janelle Doharty for their presentations and the challenge to collaborate as professionals in the 21st century.
