    Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 22, 2009 (SKNIS): St. Kitts and Nevis and participating countries of the Caribbean region have set aside Friday, June 26 to provide free and confidential HIV Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) to its residents.

     

    A joint initiative between the Caribbean Broadcast Media Partnership on HIV and AIDS and Scotia Bank, Eastern Caribbean, the regional testing day has the objective of heightening public interest in VCT which is an effective tool in the prevention of the spread of HIV. 

     

    Locally, Scotia Bank has come together with the National AIDS Secretariat of the Ministry of Health to host the activity in Bank Street, Basseterre from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

     

    Attending individuals have the opportunity to find out their HIV/AIDS status as well as win several give-aways complements Scotia Bank.  The National AIDS Secretariat will also be conducting male condom placement competitions as well as female condom and dental dam demonstrations.
