BASSETERRE, St. Kitts (June 24, 2009) The St. Kitts Music Festival Executive Committee confirmed today that Nu Vybes International will not be performing Thursday night, at the St. Kitts Music Festival.
“It is a very unfortunate circumstance,” said Faron Lawrence, chairperson of the Executive Committee. “However due to internal problems that the band is experiencing they have asked to be withdrawn from the Music Festival.”
Lawrence pointed that Nu Vybes has always done a remarkable job at the St. Kitts Music Festival.
“We at the St. Kitts Music Festival surely hope that the band is able to recover and overcome the obstacles that face them now,” Lawrence said.
However, Lawrence went on to reveal that the Lights Out Band has since been contracted to perform on the Thursday night of the St. Kitts Music Festival.
The Lights Out Band was formed in June of 2006, and has performed in all of the top entertainment spots in the Federation.
The band is highly regarded through-out the region and has emerged as one of the premier bands in the Federation.
“I truly believe that after all of the hard work this band has put into their music, they are truly ready for the next level,” Lawrence said.
Lights Out released their first album “Turn Off the Lights” in November of 2007, and then followed up with another album in 2008.
