BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, SEPTEMBER 21st 2017 – Parliamentary Representative for St. Christopher 2 (Central Basseterre), Hon. Marcella Liburd has been visiting residents, businesses and the areas affected by the passage of Hurricane Maria along the Irish Town Bay Road and the surrounding neighbourhood.
“Lots of sand and debris were washed up onto Irish Town Bay Road and crews of workers mainly from Public Works were out clearing the road to allow vehicular to flow. We say thanks to them for their hard work,” said Liburd following a tour of the areas.
She engaged the residents about any damage to their homes and businesses.
“Residents were generally relieved that the damage, mainly water, was not as severe as anticipated and were thanking God for once again sparing us from the worst of the hurricane,” said Liburd, urging all persons to “take these hurricanes serious and protect your family at all time.”
