Mansion Upsetters decimate Christchurch in Constituency #7 Domino League

Calm before the storm: Jamie Brombill of Christchurch on the board in the early stages of their game against Mansion Upsetters at Domino House in Mansion
By: Peter Ngunjiri, Press Release

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, September 29, 2017 (PLP PR Media Inc.) -- The eleventh round of the round-robin stage of the 22nd edition of the annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition held at various venues on Thursday September 28 returned very interesting results.

Mansion Upsetters riding on their new found strength after they beat home team Saddlers in an away outing on Tuesday September 26 were in no compromising mood when they faced Christchurch on Thursday evening at Domino House in Mansion Village.

Domino House is the home for the two teams. However, whereas Mansion Upsetters are from Mansion Village their opponents are from the neighbouring village of Christchurch and since they do not have a domino venue in the village, they have to cross a ghaut to come to their ‘home’ venue in Mansion.

Upset probably because their opponents are not from Mansion even though they call it home venue, Mansion Upsetters did what no other team has done to an opponent since the current edition of Constituency Number Seven Domino League started on Thursday August 10. They beat the ‘visitors’ from across the ghaut 13-2, leaving all interested parties in shock.

Saddlers who on Tuesday lost at home to Mansion Upsetters salvaged some of their lost pride when they travelled to Tabernacle and met the home team, Tabernacle, at T-Vill’s Hang Out Spot whom they soundly and comfortably beat 13-6.

Unity players were supposed to meet Unstoppable at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project, but the entire neighbouring had been plunged into darkness due to unexplained reasons. The two teams travelled to Hidden Alley in Lodge Village where they were directed to the Molineux Sports Pavilion. Unity, the defending champions, beat Unstoppable 13-7.

In other games, Lodge beat Small Corner 13-6 at the Molineux Sports Pavilion; Beers beat Molineux 13-9 at Bernette Bar in Hidden Alley Lodge Village; Guinness beat Giants 13-11 also at Bernette Bar; while playing at Tacky Bar in Hidden Alley Lodge Village, Sylvers beat the visiting Parsons 13-9.

In the meantime the seventh game of the ninth round that did not take off on Sunday September 23 between Lodge and Beers and was supposed to take place on Wednesday September 27 at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project did not happen. According to the league organiser Calvin Farrell, the two teams are now expected to meet on Monday October 2 at the same venue.

As the round-robin stage of the Constituency Number Seven Domino League which is sponsored by the area Parliamentary Representative and Prime Minister Dr the Hon Timothy Harris nears its end, action will continue with round twelve on Tuesday October 3 at seven different venues.

Joint top league contenders Lodge (with Unity) will be at home, Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project, where they will face Molineux. Defending champions Unity will face Small Corner at the Molineux Sports Pavilion, while Beers and Guinness will be facing each other at their base which is Bernette Bar in Hidden Alley, Lodge Village.

Other games will see Unstoppable coming up against Mansion Upsetters at the Domino House in Mansion; Giants will travel to Parsons to meet the home team, Parsons; Tabernacle will travel to Hidden Alley in Lodge Village to meet home team Sylvers at Tacky Bar; and Christchurch with travel to Saddlers where they will meet the home team, Saddler, at Shanty Bar.
