BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, November 1, 2017 (PLP PR Media Inc.) -- Lodge Domino Club who finished at the top in the first round of the round robin stage in the 22nd edition of the annual Constituency Number Seven Dr the Hon Timothy Harris Domino League competition had suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Tabernacle Domino Club.
But when the two teams met in the second round of the tournament on Tuesday October 31 at the Lodge Community Centre in Lodge Project, Lodge used their home advantage to soundly beat Tabernacle 13-6. In the first round clash which was held at the T-Vills Hang Out Spot in Tabernacle, the home team had narrowly won 13-12.
The other team that came out of the Tuesday October 31 clashes smiling was Unstoppable who beat Sylver’s narrowly 13-11 in a game played at the Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux. In the first round Sylver’s had pummelled Unstoppable 13-7 when they met at Tacky Bar in Hidden Alley Lodge Village.
In the other five games of the night, the teams that had won in the first round repeated the feat with results that certainly made them proud. Saddlers which had hammered Molineux in the first round escaped a nasty experience by squeezing a narrow 13-12 win over Molineux when they met at the Edgar Gilbert Sporting pavilion; while Beer thumped Giants 13-10 at the Lodge Community Centre.
Defending champions who travelled to Parsons had an easy time despatching Parsons Domino Club in their own backyard 13-6; Mansion Upsetters beat Guinness 13-10 at the Domino House in Mansion, and Christchurch beat Small Corner 13-7 at Bernette Bar in Hidden Alley Lodge Village.
Constituency Seven Domino League moves ahead in the second round of the round robin stage with the eighth segment of seven games that will be played on Thursday November 2 at five venues. All games start at 7:30 pm. The Edgar Gilbert Sporting Complex pavilion in Molineux will have Lodge meeting Unstoppable, and Sylver’s facing it off with Molineux.
The Lodge Community Centre will also host two games with Giants challenging Saddlers of Constituency Number Six, and defending champions Unity hosting Christchurch. In other games Mansion Upsetters will be facing it off with Beers at the Domino House in Mansion; Guinness will be meeting with Small Corner at Bernette Bar in Hidden Alley Lodge Village; and Parsons will be travelling to meet Tabernacle at T-Vill’s Hang Out Spot in Tabernacle Village.
