    BASSETERE, ST. KITTS, NOVEMBER 8TH 2006 - The parade of cruise ships into the Basseterre Roadstead continued Tuesday with the arrival of the 77,000-tonne M.S. Oceana.

     

     

     

    The "Oceana," which arrived with 1,982 passengers from Tortola, is the fourth cruise ship to visit St. Kitts in as many days with over 7,000 passengers.

     

     

     

    Most of the passengers disembarked and went on sight-seeing tours via taxis and the St. Kitts Scenic Railway, shopping, sun and sea-bathing, hiking, horse-back riding, snorkeling, golfing, kayaking and sailing. The ship left at 6:00 P.M for St. Lucia, its next port of call.

     

     

     

    On Monday, the 109,000-tonne "Golden Princess" arrived with 2,779 passengers from St. Thomas and departed at

    M.S. Oceana docked at Port Zante on Tuesday.
    3:00 P.M. for Grenada. The "Silver Whisper" visited on Sunday with 382 passengers and the "Empress of the Seas" on Saturday with 2,020 passengers.

     

     

     

    The St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority official Tuesday afternoon that Wednesday's scheduled visit of the M.S. "Liverpool" has been cancelled.

     

     

     

    The 1,950-passenger "Sea Princess" is scheduled to dock at Port Zante on Thursday and on Saturday, the 1,650-passenger  "Ocean Village" and the 1,266-passenger "M.S. Maasdam" will dock at Port Zante.

     

     

     

    Four ships are scheduled to call next week. A total of  19 calls are booked in November and 30 in December.
