    Basseterre, November 7th, 2005  A new event on the Caribbean boat racing calendar, the Golden Rock Regatta, will set sail for St. Kitts, from Sint Maarten, at midnight, Sunday November 13th, 2005.  Sixty Dutch participants are expected to be part of this race. 
     
    The Regatta is a four leg boat race which begins in Sint Maarten and continues on to St. Kitts, St. Barts and ends in St. Eustatius on November 16th, 2005.  The winner of each leg/day will be awarded a trophy.  The nucleus of the regatta is a group of 60 Dutch participants on seven chartered boats, who are looking for a new challenge and new destinations to sail to.  The Regatta will arrive on St. Kitts on Monday November 14th, 2005 at 7a.m and will set sail for St. Barts, Tuesday 15th, November, 2005 at 10 in the morning.
     
    According to Product Development Manager at the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, Randolph Hamilton,  this race presents tourism stakeholders, such as tour operators, craft vendors, retail with a chance to  The Regatta is being filmed for Sailing Channel Europe by the same TV crew that filmed the Heineken Regatta. In addition to the full coverage throughout Europe the full program will be aired by a Dutch TV Station and on SXM TV. Excerpts will be shown on CNN/Mainsail and Eurosport.
