    Basseterre, St.Kitts ( November 15, 2005):-After a slow start and a short break as a result of the Renee Diguilio Female Basketball league and other local basketball events, the St.Kitts National Basketball Training squad is expected to resume practice sessions on Wednesday 16th November. The resumption of sessions will begin with an official meeting, which will be conducted by Coach Glen "Ghost" Phillip who is expected to outline plans for the future progression of the team. The squad was selected some 3 months ago and began training in early September.

     However various events including the Caribbean Club Basketball Invitational, the BVI Basketball Invitational and the Renee Diguilio Female Basketball league, interrupted and hindered the smooth and consistent running of training sessions.
    "Despite the slow start we are still very enthusiastic about the squad," said Vice President Wallis Wilkin. "The squad features some of the most youthful and talented players SKABA has seen in quite some time and under the leadership of Coach Glen "Ghost" Phillip we expect great things from this squad," Wilkin continued.
     
    The St.Kitts national basketball team is expected to take part in a number of regional tournaments during the course of 2006, the most significant of which is the CBC/Caricom Senior mens tournament which is scheduled for the first half of next year in Jamaica. The dormant Leeward Islands Basketball Association tournament is also expected to be revived and will likely take place again during the first half of 2006. The team will also be play in various regional invitational tournaments in Barbados, Antigua and St.Vincent as well as engage teams from St.Vincent and Antigua here in St.Kitts during the 2006 SKABA season.
     
    The meeting will take place at Basketball City at 7:00pm and the players invited are: Carlito Monzac, Shane Hendricks, George Gaton, Marvin Davis, Shawn Forbes, Trevor Roberts, Levi Fyfield, Tamboura Caines, Ruel Nero, Rymal Browne, Ray Liddie, Eston Williams, Trevor Huggins, Williams Natta, Kemo Duncan, Leon Henry, Duon McSheene, Dave Pondt, Clayton Powell, Nasharn Maynard, Karris Douglas, Lyle Duggins, Halstead Isles, Dane Rawlins, Berlie Francis, Kiethley Hicks and Sylvester Whyte.
