Twelve countries to compete for Miss Caribbean Jaycees title

    ST. JOHN’S, Antigua – THE Caribbean’s most prestigious pageant, the Miss Caribbean Jaycees, will be held on Friday, July, 31 with 12 countries competing for the coveted title.
     
    The pageant has been in existence for over four decades and was first won by Nicole Littlepage of Trinidad and Tobago in 1964.
     
    The countries and their representatives vying for this year’s title are: Barbados - Dannyele Leslie; Bahamas - Alexandra Deal; Dominica -  Kayan Toussaint; Guyana -   Marsha Antoinette Chester; Jamaica -  Katrina Grant; Montserrat - Loralyn Fergus; St. Croix - Sheniqua Robinson; St. Kitts & Nevis - Samantha Boone; St. Lucia - Cathy Necole Daniel; and Trinidad & Tobago - Rae-Ann Cardinal. St. Vincent & the Grenadines and Antigua and Barbuda are also competing but their representatives have not yet been announced.
     
    The contestants will be judged in the Interview, Swimwear, Performing Talent and Evening Wear segments.
     
    The pageant, which will be held for the 46th time, has been dominated by Antigua and Barbuda, with that country having 15 wins under its belt.
     
    St. Kitts and Nevis has won the pageant on two occasions in the likes of Ithlane Archibald in 1984 and Nicole Gumbs in 2001.
     
    The reigning Miss Jaycees Queen is Marah Walters of Dominica.
